“I am proud of where we are heading and seeing the business grow daily, and I am extremely excited to see what the future holds for Merry Maids Leicester.”

In 2023, Rachel Mullaney opened Merry Maids Leicester in the UK. While she may be new to Merry Maids, her wisdom and experience is seasoned. Here she shares her advice for other women looking to grow their own business.

What’s the best career advice you’ve been given?

Believe in yourself and your abilities. Trust your instincts, be confident in your decisions, and don’t be afraid to speak up and assert yourself.

What advice do you have for women looking to grow their own business?

Set clear goals. Define your business objectives and create a strategic plan to achieve them. This will help keep you focused and motivated. Invest in yourself. Learn and develop your skills to stay competitive in the market. Delegate effectively. As your business grows, it is important to delegate tasks to others to focus on higher-priority activities. Surround yourself with a reliable team. Build a healthy, strong relationship with your team for them to support you in achieving your goals.

What do you wish more people knew about being a woman in business?

Work-life balance is key. Balancing work responsibilities with personal and family commitments is a common challenge for women in business. Find the balance that works for you.

What’s an accomplishment that makes you especially proud?

Being given the opportunity to run Merry Maids Leicester and start it from the ground. I am proud of where we are heading and seeing the business grow daily, and I am extremely excited to see what the future holds for Merry Maids Leicester.
